Jeff’s latest endeavor is the construction of an elegant French-Country style home in The Colonies. “The feeling I want the home to have is if I had taken on old homestead structure or caretaker’s cottage and added a more formal French-style home to it.” That is one of the reasons the front of the garage, seen from inside the home and on the other side of a charming courtyard, has the appearance of a delightful cottage from an earlier era. “I want to capture the rustic, yet elegant, style homes seen in the estates of Provence.” The mix further enhances the illusion that the house has grown gracefully and gradually, to meet generations of changing needs. That’s part of its French country-home character. It’s an effect Jeff will reinforce at every opportunity. Textures, patterns, glazes and other age-enhancing techniques will be used throughout the home.

One key to the plan’s success is traffic flow. The stunning entry will allow for traffic to flow straight through an arched passage into the open family room, kitchen and cheery breakfast nook.
